Formlabs Formlabs Alpha Fast Resin 1 L
Alpha Fast Resin is a general-purpose SLA resin engineered for speed, delivering print speeds up to 130 mm/h so you can iterate prototypes in minutes or fill the entire Form Studio 1 build volume in less than two hours. With a tensile strength of 46 MPa and 34% elongation at break, it produces durable parts suitable for prototypes, jigs, fixtures, and tooling. Low-odor components and UL GREENGUARD Gold certification make it one of the most workspace-friendly 3D printing resins available.
- Certified UL GREENGUARD Gold when printed on Form Studio 1 with VOC Extractor.
- Post-processed parts meet safety requirements for long-term skin contact.
- Compatible with Form Studio 1 only.
Fast-Printing General Purpose Resin
Alpha Fast Resin is a fast-printing general purpose resin with print speeds up to 130 mm/h, for iterative prototypes in minutes or print the entire build volume on Form Studio 1 in less than two hours.
Low odor
The Alpha Resin Family is formulated with low-odor components.
Skin-safe parts
Post-processed parts meet safety requirements for long-term skin contact.
UL GREENGUARD Gold
The first 3D printing materials certified for GREENGUARD Gold, when printed on Form Studio 1 with the VOC Extractor.
Made for Form Studio 1
Supplied in 1 L cartridges for Form Studio 1, the only printer Alpha Resins support.
Prototypes, Jigs and Fixtures in Less Time
Build prototypes faster or rapidly create jigs, fixtures, and tooling with a tensile strength of 46 MPa and 34% elongation at break.
Up to 130 mm/hr
To iterate faster, Alpha Fast Resin prints at up to 130 mm/hr, quick enough to fill the full Form Studio 1 build volume in under two hours. Small components finish in minutes.
With 46 MPa tensile strength and 34% elongation at break, it holds up as jigs and fixtures as well as prototypes.
From Cartridge to Finished Part
Alpha Resins are part of the Form Studio 1 workflow, from loading the cartridge to post-curing the finished part.
1. Load the Cartridge
Insert the Alpha Resin cartridge into Form Studio 1. The printer dispenses resin into the tank as the print requires it.
2. Print
Prepare the job in PreForm and start it from the touchscreen, PreForm or the mobile app.
3. Remove Parts
Remove parts from the build platform. On Build Platform Flex, parts release with a flex of the platform.
4. Wash and Cure
Wash and post-cure parts in Form Studio Wash+Cure. See Formlabs' Alpha Resin washing guidelines for compatible solvents.

Safety and Handling
The Alpha Resin Family uses low-odor components and post-processed parts meet safety requirements for long-term skin contact. Alpha Resins are the first 3D printing materials certified for UL GREENGUARD Gold, when printed on Form Studio 1 and using VOC Extractor. Alpha Fast Resin is only supported on the Form Studio 1.
- Liquid resin causes skin and eye irritation and may cause an allergic skin reaction (SDS: H315, H317, H319).
- Wear gloves and eye protection when handling liquid Alpha Resin.
- Review the Safety Data Sheet before use.
- GREENGUARD Gold certification applies only when printed on Form Studio 1 with the VOC Extractor.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can Alpha Resins be used on Form 4 or other printers?
No. Alpha Resins are only supported on Form Studio 1.
Does GREENGUARD Gold apply on any printer?
No. The certification applies only when Alpha Resins are printed on Form Studio 1 using the VOC Extractor.
Do I need gloves or eye protection?
Yes. Gloves are recommended when working with Alpha Resins in liquid form, and the Safety Data Sheet calls for eye protection. Review the SDS before use.
How are Alpha Resin parts washed?
Parts are washed and post-cured in Form Studio Wash+Cure. Formlabs publishes washing guidelines for compatible solvents, including Resin Washing Solution.
