Formlabs Formlabs Form Studio 1 Resin Tank
The Form Studio 1 Resin Tank is a strong, flexible resin tank engineered for fast print speeds and fine feature resolution on the Form Studio 1 printer. Each tank comes with a reusable lid so you can stack tanks and store resin safely outside the machine, making material changes as simple as sliding in a new tank. Optimized for chemical compatibility with Alpha Resins, Flexible 80A Resin V2, and True Cast Resin, this tank is rated for at least 75,000 layers of consistent, reliable performance.
- Switch between resin colors or types instantly, just slide in a pre-filled tank!
- Lightweight and compact for easy storage and transport.
- Formlabs Tough 1500 Resin and Open Material Mode is compatible only with the Form Studio 1 Resin Tank Pro.

Pick the Tank That Matches Your Resin
To print each resin at its best, Form Studio 1 uses two tanks. The Resin Tank uses a film engineered for Alpha Resins, for fast prints and a clean supported surface. The Resin Tank Pro handles Tough 1500 Resin V2 and third-party resins in Open Material Mode, because some of their ingredients damage the standard tank's film.
Key Features of the Form Studio 1 Resin Tanks:
- Resin Tank for Alpha Resins: Alpha Resins print in the standard tank. In the Tank Pro they run at roughly 60% of the speed with no Formlabs setting, so Formlabs doesn't recommend it.
- Tank Pro for Tough and Open Material: Required for Tough 1500 Resin V2 and for any resin in Open Material Mode.
- Lid Included: Store resin in its own tank and switch materials by switching tanks.
- Built to Last: Formlabs designs both tanks for more than 75,000 layers with Formlabs materials when they're maintained correctly.

Built Around the Film
To print fast with lower peel forces, each layer of light passes up through the tank's flexible film into the resin. The standard tank's film is engineered for Alpha Resins and removes the need for a continuous mixer. When resin has been sitting, the printer stirs it by moving the build platform through the tank.
The film can't be replaced, so a worn-out tank is replaced as a whole.
Open Material Mode Runs on the Tank Pro
To print a third-party 405 nm resin, add the Resin Tank Pro. Open Material Mode comes with Form Studio 1 at no extra cost. It skips the cartridge, so you pour the resin into the tank yourself and dial in the print settings.
Wear gloves when you pour and handle liquid resin.
