MatterHackers MatterHackers PRO Resin Cleaner Wash 5L Bottle - 1 Bottle
MatterHackers PRO Resin Cleaner Wash is a precision-formulated post-processing solution designed to rapidly remove photopolymer resin from 3D-printed parts cured at 385nm, 405nm, and 460nm wavelengths. It effectively cleans even the most intricate, detailed geometries while reducing post-cure times and leaving surfaces shiny and dry to the touch. Compatible with a broad range of resins, it's an essential part of any professional resin printing workflow.
- Formulated for 385nm, 405nm, and 460nm photopolymer resins for broad compatibility.
- Rapidly cleans intricate, detailed parts including hard-to-reach cavities.
- Leaves parts shiny and dry to the touch after post-curing.
- Helps reduce overall post-curing times for a faster production workflow.
- Odorless formulation makes your workspace more pleasant.
A Cleaner Alternative to IPA for Resin Prints
PRO Resin Wash is an odorless, water-miscible glycol ether cleaner for SLA, MSLA and DLP prints. It works in existing wash stations, does not evaporate from the tank, and is classified as a combustible liquid rather than a highly flammable one like isopropyl alcohol.
Odorless
No alcohol odor in the workspace, so the wash station can sit beside the printer.
Lower fire risk
Classified as a combustible liquid (GHS category 4). IPA is highly flammable (category 2).
Stays in the tank
Unlike alcohol, it does not flash off, so open wash tanks do not lose cleaner to evaporation.
Same workflow
Wash as with IPA, followed by a short water rinse. Compatible with existing wash stations, tanks and cure units.
One Cleaner for Every Resin Printer
Whether your printer cures at 385, 405 or 460 nm, PRO Resin Wash cleans standard photopolymer resins from SLA, MSLA and DLP machines, so a single cleaner serves an entire print farm.
Wash, Rinse, Dry, Cure
PRO Resin Wash is a water-miscible glycol ether cleaner that fits the same workflow as IPA, with one added step: a short water rinse after washing. The result is a bath that is odorless and does not evaporate.
1. Wash
Fill your wash station or bucket with PRO Resin Wash and wash parts as you would in IPA. Ten minutes is sufficient for most parts.
- Avoid washing much longer than 10 minutes; extended soaking can reduce the mechanical properties of some resins.
- Wear gloves, and keep the container closed between uses.
2. Rinse in water
This step is new for users switching from IPA. The cleaner does not evaporate from the part as alcohol does, so rinse parts in plain water for about one minute. Cold tap water is suitable.
- A few drops of dish soap (under a teaspoon) improve the rinse.
- A cloudy appearance after rinsing is normal and clears as the part dries.
- Replace the rinse water as it accumulates cleaner over time.
3. Dry completely
Dry the part with compressed air, or air dry it for 1 to 2 hours, until no water or cleaner remains, including inside holes and cavities.
- A slightly waxy feel before the part is fully dry is normal. Some resins retain it until cured.
- Compressed air shortens drying time for detailed parts.
4. Cure
Post-cure with your resin's normal time and temperature, in a Form Cure or any UV curing station. No changes are required.
- Cure only fully dry parts. Residual cleaner evaporates inside a closed cure chamber and can cloud its reflective walls.
5. Reuse and Replace
The cleaner does not evaporate from an open tank, and a single fill cleans many build platforms before it becomes saturated with resin.
- Replace it when: a thin film of resin remains on parts after washing.
- Hydrometer check: fresh cleaner reads about 0.97. Replace it at 1.02.
- Do not pour it down the drain. Dispose of used cleaner according to local regulations.
Why Switch from IPA
| PRO Resin Wash | Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) | |
|---|---|---|
| Smell | Odorless | Strong alcohol odor |
| Fire risk | Combustible liquid (GHS category 4) | Highly flammable (GHS category 2) |
| Evaporation | Stays in the tank | Evaporates from open tanks and from parts |
| Bath life | Long-lasting; change it at a hydrometer reading of 1.02 | Evaporates, so the bath needs topping up |
| Extra step | Quick water rinse after washing | None |
| Drying | Compressed air, or 1 to 2 hours of air drying | Flashes off in minutes |
| Equipment | Same wash stations, tanks and curing units | Same |
Gloves and eye protection are required for both. See the Safety Data Sheet on this page for full safety information.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the water rinse necessary?
Yes. Unlike IPA, the cleaner does not evaporate from the part, so a short rinse in plain water removes it. A small amount of dish soap improves the rinse, and a cloudy appearance in the rinse water is normal.
Is it compatible with my wash station?
It can be used wherever IPA is used, including automated wash stations, wash tanks and manual buckets. Keep the lid closed between washes.
When should the cleaner be replaced?
A hydrometer provides the most reliable check: fresh cleaner reads about 0.97, and it should be replaced at 1.02. Without a hydrometer, replace it when parts retain a thin, tacky film after a normal wash. Dispose of used cleaner as hazardous waste.
How long do parts take to dry?
Compressed air dries parts quickly; otherwise, allow 1 to 2 hours of air drying. Holes and cavities must be dry before curing.
Does it change the curing process?
No. Cure with the resin's standard time and temperature. Parts must be fully dry first so residual cleaner does not evaporate inside the cure chamber.
Can it be used indoors?
Yes, with standard precautions. It is odorless and less flammable than IPA, but gloves and eye protection are still required, and it should be kept away from heat and flames and stored in a well-ventilated area.
