Prusa Prusament Space Grade Black
Engineered for Space, Electronics, and Precision Applications
Prusament PC Space Grade Black is a specialized polycarbonate-based filament developed for demanding environments such as space technology and particle physics. Designed with ESD-safe properties and extremely low outgassing, this advanced material helps protect sensitive electronics and precision instruments from electrostatic discharge and vacuum contamination.
Unlike traditional aerospace-grade materials that require costly industrial equipment, Prusament PC Space Grade Black can be printed on many common desktop 3D printers. This makes professional-grade materials far more accessible for engineers, researchers, and advanced makers alike.
Key Features of the Prusa Prusament PC Space Grade Black 3D Printer Filament:
- Durable polycarbonate blend provides strong, reliable parts suitable for functional prototypes and production components
- Engineered to meet strict aerospace standards, helping prevent contamination of optical systems, sensors, and delicate electronics in vacuum environments
- Ideal for electronic housings, sensitive equipment components, and environments where static protection is essential
ESD-Safe Performance for Sensitive Electronics
PC Space Grade Black is engineered with excellent electrostatic dissipation (ESD) properties, helping protect sensitive electronic components from damaging static buildup. With reliable surface and volume resistivity directly from printed parts, it’s ideal for electronics housings, laboratory equipment, and aerospace components where static protection is critical.
- Built-in electrostatic dissipation (ESD-safe)
- Protects sensitive electronics from static discharge
- Ideal for aerospace, lab, and electronics applications

BASIC ATTRIBUTES
| STRENGTHS | TRADE-OFFS |
| ESD-safe material | Requires a hardened nozzle |
| Excellent outgassing properties | Lower layer-to-layer adhesion compared to pure PC |
| Great high-temperature resistance (up to 137.6 °C) | May require drying before printing |
| Great dimensional stability- possible to print large models without an enclosure |
|
| Can be printed on common desktop 3D printers |
TIPS & TRICKS
- Hardened nozzle is necessary due to carbon additives
- Printing in a well-ventilated room or in an enclosed printer with active filtration is recommended
- For post-processing, using protective equipment like goggles, respirator, and gloves is recommended
- Drying the filament before use is recommended. You can find filament dryers here.
